Our Islamic Center provides following services:
Community Service
There are several other programs such as monthly Food Drive, Food Bank, weekly health clinics, annual health fair, flue shots, collecting and distributing Udhya meat, clothing, and furniture. CAP also works together with other organizations in the area to find resources for help. Female members are also part of CAP team to work with female community members who may be in need of funds, shelter or something else.
Counselling Service
Counseling psychology is a psychological specialty that encompasses research and applied work in several broad domains: counseling process and outcome; supervision and training; career development and counseling; and prevention and health.
Educational Service
Our School is a well established Islamic school for education and learning, and is attended by over 200 students on a daily basis. The Madrassa students who come from a diverse range of local cultures are able to learn a broad mix of subjects including Arabic and Tajweed. The syllabus, teaching methods and learning objectives are currently being reviewed to ensure that they are focused on key priority areas.The students, teachers and administration staff currently require the assistance of volunteers who can assist the operations of the Madrassa in a number of ways.
Funeral Service
AMIC partners with RAHMA FUNERAL HOME to provide funeral services. Rahma is approved/licensed by the State of Texas and has been operated by a licensed Funeral Director since August 11, 2004.
Ladies Service
The Main objectives of the Islamic Centre Womens Association (ICWA) are : - To work for the welfare and well being of Muslim women - To enlighten them with the knowledge of Islam - To assit them in developing their self-confidence and self-respect - To enable them to deal with issues faced by Muslim women
Medical Service
We provides Adult, Pediatric, Psychiatric, and Dental service by qualified Doctors and HIPPA certified volunteers. We also offer Free five (5) blood tests (valued at about $300). All our patient health records are managed through a safe and secure cloud based medical health record system.
Newcomer Service
We welcome you to AMIC and hope and pray that your move is full of Khair (benefit). At AMIC we would like to provide a welcoming environment and help newcomers and reverts feel part of the community as soon as possible. We also realize that new reverts to Islam face many challenges and we would like to help them in this transition process. AMIC has a monthly social and we'd like to know you better so that we can welcome and introduce you to the community. If you are a newcomer/revert, please fill the online newcomer signup form (link below) and In'sha'Allah volunteers from the Ansar (helpers) committee will reach out to you to not only welcome you, but and also assist you if you need any help.
Nikkah Service
We provide the services to perform “Aqd” or Nikah” for Muslims according to Islamic practice of marriage principles.
Social Service
The mission of the Social Services Committee is to develop, implement and manage human services programs and supports needed to improve the quality of life of individuals and families. The committee seeks to serve the humanity without regard to race, gender or religion.
Summer School Service
The EPIC Summer School is a part time school in the Summer for ages 5-15 that runs from Monday to Thursday from 2:15 PM to 6:30 PM. Program Topics Include (but not limited to): Heroes of Islam- Inspirational Stories from Seerah, Prophets, Companions of the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and Contemporary Muslims Tafseer of Select Surahs from Juz Amma Learning Special Duas for Everyday Life Perfecting Your Prayer- Reviewing Wudu & Prayer Project Based Arts & Crafts Organized Recreational Activities Math- Understanding & Mastering Core Concepts before the School Year Starts Spoken Language Classes for Arabic, Bengla and Urdu Speakers- Your Child will learn basic spoken language skills as well as Build Vocabulary in the language of your choice
Youth Development Service
Youth development is a process that prepares a young person to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood and achieve his or her full potential. Youth development is promoted through activities and experiences that help youth develop social, ethical, emotional, physical, and cognitive competencies.
